Alopecia Natural Treatments



Alopecia or commonly known as hair loss, is a condition where baldness or patches of baldness are experienced. The causes of Alopecia are not yet known, however a greater percentage of people affected by Alopecia are known to have a family history. This means that hair loss is hereditary. For most people, hair that is lost due to Alopecia usually grows back over a period of a year. In case it does not, there are countless treatments that can be tried. While some people opt for a hair transplant, others rely on anti-hair loss oils. Certain Alopecia affected individuals have also used natural treatment of alopecia. Below are several effective natural remedies for the disorder:

Essential Oils

A combination of various oils such as thyme, lavender, rosemary and cedar wood is considered to be very effective for treating Alopecia. This mixture of oil was tested on a sample of 86 people. After a course of seven months, 44% of the 86 individuals noticed considerable improvement in their hair loss. While 15% of the sampled individuals remained indifferent to the usage of oil. The best feature of this combination of oils is that it has no side effects, however the oils used may tend to be allergic to some.

Onion Juice

In another study, the relation of onion juice with Alopecia was observed. 23 Alopecia affected individuals were observed. These individuals used the onion juice regularly for about two months. After a regular use of onion juice for two weeks, 17 out of 23 people noticed re-growth. It was also observed that onion juice worked significantly better on males as compared to females.

Sage Extract

Similar to Licorice, Sage has also been an effective remedy for treating  Alopecia. It is believed since centuries that Sage contains abilities to cure Alopecia effectively. Add some amount of Sage extract to the shampoo you use. Or you can also use sage tea. Rinse your hair with double strength sage tea for better hair growth.

Safflower

Considered to be a good vasodilator, Safflower is used as a massaging substance. Regularly massage your scalp for twenty minutes with safflower oil. This stimulates hair growth and is also responsible for increasing local blood flow. In case you do not prefer Safflower Jojoba oil can be used as an alternative.

Other Natural Remedies

·         Stinging Nettle is a natural herb used as a cure for Alopecia. The levels of DHT present in Nettle is very effective for treating the condition.
·         Siberian Ginseng or Eleuthero root is another natural remedy used for Alopecia. It is an anti-oxidant herb and is also present in hair lost supplements made my most manufactures.
·         Bilboa extract or Gingko Bilboa extract facilitates hair growth by providing essential nutrients to the hair follicles. The use of Bilboa also increases blood circulation to the brain and the skin.
·         Pumpkin seed oil is also used to encourage hair growth. Extracted from pumpkin seeds, the oil has been used over centuries to treat hair loss.
